The Choice is Now and it is Yours

What do you choose for your life?

I’m going to shout out a book first thing and it’s, The Miracle Morning.

Have you read it? I had, years ago. I owned the book and for certain know I read it cover to cover.

What did I do with the knowledge given to me from within the pages?

Absolutely. Freaking. Nothing.

Now… I’m also certain that I really thought at the time that I would do so very much with everything I had read.

But I’ve come to realize that we simply will not take the next step if we are not actually ready to commit.

At least when it comes to bettering ourselves, our lives, our reason for getting up in the morning.

As a single 36 year old, I can say that the opposite has been true many times in my dating experience.

I’ve taken the next step far too often for a man who I thought I wanted and so I jumped. I jumped when I didn’t know what I wanted or if he even fully wanted me back.

It’s a funny thing to look back on; now, four years single. I took step after step towards relationships that gave my life nothing while never doing the same for myself.

I’m taking steps now.

I’m rereading The Miracle Morning currently and am already a week into practicing the routines.

This book like so many others that could assist myself or you to make a change in our lives. Well, they don’t do much unless you’re willing to make the change.

Only you have the choices. Whether that means getting up an hour earlier or giving yourself focused time on a project that will better yourself. Maybe the choice to go for a walk or a run or a fitness class if that would get you closer to some goal you want to reach.

I say all of this not to make you feel bad for what you haven’t yet done. Goodness knows we make ourselves feel bad plenty.

This is just a little note of reminder. You have the choice. It is your life, your future.

From the book,

“Always remember that who you’re becoming is far more important than what you’re doing, and yet it is what you’re doing that is determining who you’re becoming” — Hal Elrod

I stand firmly in my beliefs that until you are ready to hear something, your mind will not take it in fully.

So, that leaves us with some questions…

What are you ready for?

What are you waking up for?

What are you fighting for?

What are you learning for?

And who do you believe in?

That last one. I’d like to answer it for you, repeat this out loud.

I believe in me.

Say it again.

I believe in me.

Say it with feeling.

I believe in me.

I believe in you too. Just keep on saying it love.
